Prison Training Program Graduates

The Prison Training Program is a program that our pups attend at Lancaster State Prison, where they are partnered with inmates to complete a 12-week course that teaches basic commands, behavior, and socialization. The inmates have received highly effective dog-training methods by Paws for Life K9, where they have received special recognition for the incredible work they are accomplishing- both for the dogs and the rehabilitation of the inmate!

The trainer provides a full assessment and progress report for the dog each week. A final assessment upon graduation with the program's results and further recommendations for future training is also included. These notes are all available upon request.

Free webinar sessions are available with a Paws for Life K9 trainer who has previously worked with the graduate.

Prison Training Program Graduates Ready for Forever Homes:

Meet Penelope!

This pretty girl joined us from Southern California, where she found herself in a hoarding case with 76 other pups. She is about 7 years old and weighs approximately 70 lbs.

Penelope is a graduate of the Prison Training Program and is a speedy learner. Penelope is nonreactive on a leash and loves her long walks or hikes. She is muzzle trained but has not required her muzzle on the Pittie Pack Hikes.

She is a very mellow pup in the home and would do well with a medium-energy household. Penelope is crate, potty, and figure 8 leash-trained. She knows all her basic commands and is a pretty quiet girl.

Meet Cyrus!

This handsome man has graduated from the prison training program in CA and joined us in the PNW thanks to our good friends at Paws for Life K9, and Dog is My Co-Pilot. He is about a year old and weighs approximately 61 lbs.

Cyrus loves to meet and play with other dogs, especially ones that will engage in chase. He has been successful in one-on-one and larger playgroups with both male and female pups. Cyrus knows all his basic commands and is crate and potty-trained.

Cyrus would love an active household that will take him on all the adventures the PNW has to offer.

Meet Harris!

This handsome man joined the pack from our partner rescue, Paws for Life K9, where he was pulled from an overcrowded shelter. Harris is almost 6 years old and weighs approximately 38 lbs.

Harris has been doing well in his foster home with other pups, loves everyone he meets, and would prefer to go to a home with no kitties.

Harries walks well on leash, loves car rides, knows all his basic commands, and is crate and potty-trained.
